The Maryland Fragile X Resource group was incorporated in the state of Maryland on November 29, 2001 with the following charter:
To provide support to families in and around Maryland with children affected by Fragile X Syndrome.
To promote education and awareness of Fragile X Syndrome in the general community.
To participate in fundraising to sponsor research and education on Fragile X Syndrome.

Tax Exempt Status
The Maryland Fragile X Resource Group, Inc. was recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization on May 9, 2002 and is exempt from Federal Income Tax. Contributions to the Maryland Fragile X Resource Group are deductible for Federal Income Tax purposes as provided in section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.
