 Ever wonder what to do with those old worn out blue jeans? Now, rather than tossing them out they can be transformed into cuddly creatures called "Gene Buddies" (named appropriately after the Fragile X gene of course).
We're planning to make as many Gene Buddies as possible by the 2002 Fragile X Convention where they will be sold as a fundraiser to support the 2004 International Conference on Fragile X, sponsored by the National Fragile X Foundation.
Work on the project is already underway so if you possess even the most basic sewing skills or can cut fabric without injuring yourself, we can use your help (Bill doesn't want to do all the sewing). So join us on one of our collaborative work days or just pick up a pattern and a pair of jeans (we've got lots) and pitch in. For more information, contact Kristen Head.
